Assessing Self-Reported Readiness of Medical Students transitioning to Clinical Clerkship at the University of Ottawa

Introduction: The transition from pre-clerkship to clinical clerkship is a pivotal moment for medical students. Curricular improvements can be made better prepare students clerkship. We collected student feedback generate recommendations improvement with regard preparedness at the University of Ottawa Faculty Medicine.
 Methods: created pre- and post-clerkship survey Medicine. groups assessed were different cohorts. Likert-type open ended questions used. was October 10 31, 2020. Microsoft Excel 2016 used data analysis.
 Results: obtained 176 respondents (37% response rate), which 158 provided consent completed survey. Students in post-transition group less anxious about clerkship, compared their pre-transition colleagues, most significant difference being completing thorough history physical examination (2.9/5.0 vs. 3.3/5.0, p<0.05). two main stressors incoming clerks inadequate skills training lack clarity around roles, responsibilities, expectations.
 Conclusion: Improvements through integration small-group orientation sessions, formative OSCEs, accelerated review material, simulation sessions facilitate seamless Ottawa.
